From Brief to Bloom
A selection of real design prompts, interpreted with heart, crafted with care. From concept to final repeat, each project is a glimpse into how I bring emotion, structure, and beauty to every pattern I create. Enjoy !

✿ Spoonflower Design Challenge – 1970s Revival
📄 Brief summary
Design a bold and eclectic pattern inspired by the 1970s: think geometric shapes, large florals, psychedelic swirls, and a strong vintage color palette — earth tones like avocado green, mustard, and brown, plus pops of hot pink, turquoise, and deep purple. A celebration of the groovy!
🌼 My interpretation
For this joyful challenge, I embraced the free-spirited energy of the ‘70s: flowers, feathers, and a cheerful sense of disorder... just like a messy bedroom full of vinyls, poetry, and incense.
I created all the elements by hand using Neocolor II (Caran d’Ache) crayons, blended with water for watercolor effects. The outlines were drawn in Rotring ink, then scanned, cleaned, and vectorized for clean digital use. This technique preserved the spontaneous texture of traditional media : playful, punchy, and a little rebellious.
Visually, I leaned into a retro patchwork feel with irregular polygonal blocks, echoing both the era’s love for experimentation and my current design exploration around quilted layouts. It was a fun way to challenge myself compositionally and break away from the classic grid.
✏️ What this project means to me
This was my very first Spoonflower entry, and it holds a special place for that reason. It marks a turning point: the moment I said yes to creating patterns that are bold, imperfect, and joyful, while staying anchored in my floral universe.
It was a mix of nostalgia and play, letting color lead the way.
